What is Strength & Conditioning?
Strength and Conditioning is about taking the principles of coaching and training to develop highly effective training processes for individuals or groups. These principles can be applied to any level of athlete whether an elite sportsperson or someone starting out in the gym for the first time.
How does strength and conditioning help?
Proper strength and conditioning allows an athlete to strengthen supporting muscles, even out muscle imbalances, increase mobility, correct posture, stabilize joints, learn new movement patterns and enhance coordination and peripheral skills. Specifically: Increases muscle strength. Increases muscle endurance.
Is strength and conditioning training appropriate for young athletes?
When performed in a controlled, supervised environment, it can help children and adolescents of all athletic abilities safely improve their strength and overall health and well-being.
Is S & C training good for athletes?
Research has demonstrated that supervised, technique-driven S & C training programs can reduce the risk of sports-related injuries.
