Boxing classes are ideal if you want to learn or improve your western boxing. Boxing is still a strong fundamental for all striking combat sports, whether you are doing kickboxing, Muay Thai or MMA.

If you want to have an edge over your opponents in striking or footwork mastery, then boxing classes are for you.

Who can join our boxing classes?

Everyone is welcome in our boxing classes
100% beginners in any martial art (proper boxing stance is a great fundamental to have)
Those who want to discover the noble art 
Kickboxers or nak muay who want to work on their hands & footwork
People who want to stay fit and learn a sport than can be used for self-defense

What do you learn during boxing classes?

Our boxing classes aim to teach you all the secrets that built this complex form of fighting. Here are some of the skills you’ll learn by joining our boxing classes:
Having a proper boxing stance & guard
Boxing footwork
Work on distance management
Making your defense impenetrable
Slip, roll and duck punches
Have a clean punching technique
Improve your punching power
Control your cardio

What you need to join our boxing classes

Boxing classes are suitable for beginners and more advanced athletes alike. You can therefore join us with a comfortable sport outfit.

You can borrow at the gym the main equipment required for the lessons:
Boxing gloves for Rp25.000,-
Hand wraps for Rp10.000,-
For the best hygiene and safety, we recommend you to at least purchase a mouthguard and your own hand wraps if you intend to join our boxing lessons on a regular basis.

Price to join our fundamental lessons

If you are not a member, you can join us for a trial or drop-in. If after your trial you are convinced that boxing is for you and decide to take a monthly membership, we pay you back your trial. This offer is only valid on the same day, directly after the session.

Western boxing classes are available for all Regular and Unlimited Mejiro members.

Frequently Asked Questions

What level do I need to join boxing lessons?

All levels are welcome. Beginners can learn the basics: footwork, guard and punching techniques. The ones more advanced can drill combos, work on their overall evasiveness and techniques alike.

Is sparring involved in boxing lessons?

3 short rounds of light sparring are usually involved in our boxing lessons. But do not worry if it’s your first time, the focus is on technique and movement, not power. So people will go light and easy on you if they know you are new.

Are there a lot of injuries sustained in boxing lessons?

Injuries during our lessons are very uncommon. Most of the training consists of drilling, so you always know where the punches are coming from. The focus of each lesson is to improve your technique and movement, not to apply power. Don’t expect to be more injured than other sports: you only get better by training and you need to be in one piece to train.

How old do I need to be to join your boxing lessons?

Kids and teenagers can join us when they are 12 years old or above. If your child is below 12 years old, he / she is welcome in our kids classes.
